Service-Worker Empowerment

Born from the challenges of the COVID-19 shutdown, Service! was founded by Columbus restaurant veterans Matthew Heaggans, Letha Pugh, and Sangeeta Lakhani to support unemployed hospitality workers. Partnering with local organizations, they quickly launched a free boxed meal program, serving over 10,000 meals to industry workers and their families. As restaurants reopened, Service! pivoted to offering micro-grants for essentials like healthcare, housing, and education. Guided by community feedback, Service! remains committed to empowering service-industry workers and addressing their evolving needs.
